Who We Are

Four areas of activity that strengthen each other

Founded in 1975, the Institut international des coopératives Alphonse-et-Dorimène-Desjardins (IICADD) supports the cooperative movement with evidence-based research.

The IICADD is structured around four areas of activity that align with cooperative principles and reinforce one another.

Research

Inspire, conduct, and support research on the cooperative and mutualist movement.

The IICADD develops scientific research projects that address the challenges faced by cooperatives, mutuals, and society at large. The IICADD's research helps raise awareness within the community about the nature and benefits of cooperation.

Student Community

Equip the student community and the faculty on cooperatives and mutuals.

The IICADD familiarizes the student community with cooperatives, encourages its research activities in all areas of management and supports its initiatives in the field. Students' projects contribute concretely to the challenges faced by cooperatives, mutuals, and society, thus giving meaning to their work.

Transfer

Develop, adapt, and disseminate knowledge on the management of cooperatives and mutuals.

The IICADD offers training and tools that enable cooperators to effectively contribute to the development of the cooperative and mutualist movement.

PortailCoop

Promote access to, development of, and sharing of knowledge on cooperatives and mutuals in the digital age.

Created by the IICADD with financial support from the Desjardins Group, in partnership with the HEC Montréal Library, PortailCoop is the world’s largest digital library on cooperatives and mutuals and lies at the heart of the IICADD’s activities.

Valeurs

En tant qu’unité de recherche sur les coopératives et les mutuelles de HEC Montréal, l’IICADD adhère aux valeurs de HEC Montréal que sont la pertinence, la rigueur, l’audace, l’engagement, le respect et la collaboration.
